Mapping circular pathways: a bibliometric exploration and Multilinear Regression Model of Romania’s circular economy

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Economics, 2023
Circular economy represents a key concept in the contemporary era of sustainable development, with the potential to revolutionize how our society consumes, manages resources, and addresses ecological issues. In this context, Romania, a country with a rapidly developing economy, has gradually embraced the principles of the circular economy and has begun

Diagnosing the 11‐year solar cycle's influence on the East Atlantic pattern

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
A previously unidentified solar‐cycle response in the East Atlantic pattern is found in late winter at lag +3 years with larger amplitude than the NAO response. A statistically significant NAO response to the solar cycle is seen in late winter at lag 0 years.

A Deterioration Model for Sewer Pipes Using CCTV and Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
Sewer pipeline failures pose significant threats to the environment and public health. To tackle these repercussions, many deterioration models have been developed to predict the conditions of sewer pipes, most of which are based on CCTV inspection ...

Face Hallucination with Linear Regression Model in Semi-Orthogonal Multilinear PCA Method

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2018
In this paper, we propose a new face hallucination technique, face images reconstruction in HSV color space with a semi-orthogonal multilinear principal component analysis method. This novel hallucination technique can perform directly from tensors via tensor-to-vector projection by imposing the orthogonality constraint in only one mode.

Experimental and design‐oriented research on fiber reinforced concrete segmental tunnel linings: A systematic review

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract The use of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) in precast tunnel segments is among the most established and representative applications of this material. Over the past two decades, numerous tunnel linings were constructed with partial or total substitution of conventional steel reinforcement by fibers, this yielding to quantifiable benefits in ...

Independent component analysis for tensor-valued data

open access: yes, 2017
In preprocessing tensor-valued data, e.g. images and videos, a common procedure is to vectorize the observations and subject the resulting vectors to one of the many methods used for independent component analysis (ICA).

Taking Stock: Elite Studies and Social Change

open access: yesThe British Journal of Sociology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article provides a systematic synthesis of contemporary elite sociology through the analytical lens of change and stability. We distinguish between two types of change: change within elites, referring to transformations in elite composition, circulation, or internal characteristics; and change by elites, designating processes whereby ...

Blind source separation of tensor-valued time series

open access: yes, 2017
The blind source separation model for multivariate time series generally assumes that the observed series is a linear transformation of an unobserved series with temporally uncorrelated or independent components.

Performance of DRNNAGE for macroscopic age‐at‐death estimation in contemporary Brazilian identified skeletons

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract In global forensic literature, methods for estimating age in young individuals are more commonly addressed than those applicable to adults. This trend is also evident in Brazil. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the DRNNAGE software for age estimation in Brazilian identified human skeletons. The sample consisted of 400 skeletons (
