A Reconciled Satellite Record Reveals a Negative Low Cloud Feedback Over the Past 47 Years
Abstract Low‐cloud feedback continues to dominate uncertainty in climate sensitivity, with no direct observational estimate to date. Here we provide the first such estimate by combining satellite and reanalysis data sets within a cloud‐controlling factor (CCF) framework.

Face Hallucination with Linear Regression Model in Semi-Orthogonal Multilinear PCA Method
In this paper, we propose a new face hallucination technique, face images reconstruction in HSV color space with a semi-orthogonal multilinear principal component analysis method. This novel hallucination technique can perform directly from tensors via tensor-to-vector projection by imposing the orthogonality constraint in only one mode.

Abstract BACKGROUND Selecting an optimal chromatography resin during biopharmaceutical downstream process development is a great challenge. This is especially the case for recombinant subunit vaccines, where product properties vary greatly and recovery often involves cell lysis, which yields a complex mixture of different host cell materials. Host cell

On the equivalence between Total Least Squares and Maximum Likelihood PCA [PDF]
The maximum likelihood PCA (MLPCA) method has been devised in chemometrics as a generalization of the well-known PCA method in order to derive consistent estimators in the presence of errors with known error distribution.

Explaining the Equatorial Pacific Thermocline Response to Climate Change With a Model Hierarchy
Abstract Most studies of the equatorial Pacific response to anthropogenic forcing have focused on patterns of sea surface temperature (SST) change. However, similar SST patterns can be consistent with a range of different subsurface responses, each with differing physical and biogeochemical implications.

The use of output-dependent data scaling with artificial neural networks and multilinear regression for modeling of ciprofloxacin removal from aqueous solution [PDF]
In this study, an experimental system entailing ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (CIP) removal from aqueous solution is modeled by using artificial neural networks (ANNs). For modeling of CIP removal from aqueous solution using bentonite and activated carbon, we utilized the combination of output-dependent data scaling (ODDS) with ANN, and the combination ...

Temporal Evolution of Coastal Cliffs From Weekly to Interannual Timescales
Abstract A 7‐year coastal cliff erosion record, developed from 320 ∼weekly LiDAR surveys of a 2.3 km‐long cliff in southern California, is used to examine the cliff geomorphological response to the variability of environmental forcing (water level, waves, rain, and groundwater) from weekly to interannual timescales at different cliff elevations.
