Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Macroscale multimodal imaging reveals ancient painting production technology and the vogue in Greco-Roman Egypt. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Macroscale multimodal chemical imaging combining hyperspectral diffuse reflectance (400-2500 nm), luminescence (400-1000 nm), and X-ray fluorescence (XRF, 2 to 25 keV) data, is uniquely equipped for noninvasive characterization of heterogeneous complex ...

Integration of Multimodal Data

open access: yes, 2023
AbstractThis chapter focuses on the joint modeling of heterogeneous information, such as imaging, clinical, and biological data. This kind of problem requires to generalize classical uni- and multivariate association models to account for complex data structure and interactions, as well as high data dimensionality.Typical approaches are essentially ...

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Action Anticipation from Multimodal Data

open access: yesProceedings of the 14th International Joint Conference on Computer Vision, Imaging and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications, 2019
The idea of multi-sensor data fusion is to combine the data coming from different sensors to provide more accurate and complementary information to solve a specific task. Our goal is to build a shared representation related to data coming from different domains, such as images, audio signal, heart rate, acceleration, etc., in order to anticipate daily ...

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with
