Multimodal Representation of Complex Spatial Data [PDF]

open access: yesExtended Abstracts of the 2019 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2019
For blind users, spatial information is often presented in non-spatial form such as electronic speech. We explore the possibility of representing spatial data on refreshable tactile graphic displays in combination with audio feedback and utilizing both static and dynamic tactile information.

Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Uncovering Suspicious Activity From Partially Paired and Incomplete Multimodal Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Multimodal data can be used to gain additional perspective on a phenomenon. For applications, such as security and the detection of suspicious activity, the need to aggregate and analyze data from multiple modes is vital.

Venous Thromboembolism in Pediatric Bone Sarcoma Patients: A 10‐Year, Single‐Institution Experience Encompassing the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

Application and Thinking of Deep Learning in Predicting Lateral Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Cancer

open access: yesZhongliu Fangzhi Yanjiu
Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) can exhibit lateral neck lymph node metastasis at an early stage. Lateral neck lymph node metastasis is a crucial factor affecting the prognosis of PTC and is an absolute indication for neck lymph node dissection surgery.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
