Harnessing Generative Artificial Intelligence to Construct Multimodal Resources for Chinese Character Learning

open access: yesSystems
In Chinese character learning, distinguishing similar characters is challenging for learners regardless of their proficiency. This is due to the complex orthography (visual word form) linking symbol, pronunciation, and meaning.

Nanozymes at the Bio‐Nano Interface: From Synthesis, Defect Engineering, Catalytic Behavior in Biological Microenvironments, and Biosafety Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Nanozymes (NZs) have emerged as versatile artificial enzymes with tunable catalytic properties driven by atomic coordination, defect engineering, and surface chemistry. This review presents a bio–nano interface framework linking synthesis strategies, structural design, and catalytic behavior within complex biological microenvironments.

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printable Stretchable Pressure Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a carbon‐black‐functionalized double‐network granular hydrogel (DNGH) pressure sensor capable of detecting pressures from 200 Pa, equivalent to a light finger touch, up to 500 kPa. The sensor exhibits signal drifts below 3.5% after 800 cycles and response times around 80 ms. Leveraging this broad sensing range, we 3D print this material into

Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by

Learning from linguistics: rethinking multimodal enquiry [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Social Research Methodology, 2017
Multimodal studies posit that meaning is not only communicated through spoken and written words, but also through other modes such as images, gesture, gaze, proximity etc. The widespread availability of high-quality, miniaturised audio and video recording and storing technology has made multimodal data collection cheap and easy.
