Elastomeric Micro‐Balloons for Remote Control of Cerebral Blood Flow and Real‐Time In vivo Imaging of Rodent Brain Response to Hypoperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the fabrication of MRI‐compatible elastomeric micro‐balloons via a multi‐step bubble casting process, where the monolithic elastomeric wall is selectively stiffened for reversible and controlled inflation and elasticity, depending on the target vessels for graded occlusion of cerebral arteries.

Culture’s Representation in Van Gulik’s Transcreated Novel : A Multimodal Corpus Approach

open access: yesSAGE Open
The Chinese Maze Murders , a Chinese culture-based detective novel transcreated by Dutch sinologist Robert Hans van Gulik, represents Chinese cultures multimodally and reconciles Chinese-English cultural gaps effectively. Figuring out what cross-cultural

Localized Temperature Monitoring in Mouse Brain during Light Delivery via a Non‐Planar Tapered Fiber‐Integrated µRTD Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a multifunctional tapered optical fiber integrating a conformal micro‐resistance temperature detector (µRTD) for local, real‐time thermometry during optical stimulation. The platform combines light‐delivery and temperature sensing within a minimally invasive footprint, enabling detection of sub‐degree cortical heating under representative ...

Detecting Sarcasm in Multimodal Social Platforms

open access: yes, 2016
Sarcasm is a peculiar form of sentiment expression, where the surface sentiment differs from the implied sentiment. The detection of sarcasm in social media platforms has been applied in the past mainly to textual utterances where lexical indicators ...

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

NARRATIVE MULTIMODAL TEXT AS A TYPE OF MULTIMODAL TEXT

open access: yesVestnik of Kostroma State University
The modern communication environment is saturated with multimodal information with which a person actively interacts in everyday life. Researchers of multimodal texts have proven that the perception of these texts differs from the perception of linear monomodal texts, since the semantic load in the multimodal text is distributed between verbal and non ...

Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by

Aspect-level multimodal sentiment analysis model based on multi-scale feature extraction

open access: yesScientific Reports
In existing multimodal sentiment analysis methods, only the last layer output of BERT is typically used for feature extraction, neglecting abundant information from intermediate layers.

Utility of Multimodal Large Language Models in Analyzing Chest X-Rays with Incomplete Contextual Information [PDF]

open access: yesHealthcare Informatics Research
Objectives Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly used in clinical practice, but their performance can deteriorate when radiology reports are incomplete. We evaluated whether multimodal LLMs (integrating text and images) could enhance accuracy and
