Slow light with flat or offset band edges in multi-mode fiber with two gratings
We consider mode coupling in multimode optical fibers using either two Bragg gratings or a Bragg grating and a long-period grating. We show that the magnitude of the band edge curvature can be controlled leading to a flat, quartic band-edge or to two ...

Achieving GHz system detection rate of photons in highly uniform responding superconducting nanowires coupled with multimode fiber [PDF]
Single-photon detectors with high detection rates are the foundation for the high-speed remote laser communication. Although a total detection rate of gigahertz has been achieved with multiple superconducting nanowires, the coupled single-mode fibers are

Metasurfaces and Metadevices for Topological Electromagnetic Waves
Optical topologies refer to diverse topological localized structures made by diverse parameters of light fields, such as vortices, skyrmions, and hopfions. This article navigates a direction of metasurface‐based integrated devices for generation, manipulation and detection of novel topologies of light, which would be a rapidly growing interdisciplinary

Recent Advances in Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Integrated Photonics
This review systematically surveys recent advances in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within integrated photonics. It begins by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of stimulated coupling between photons and acoustic phonons in nanoscale waveguides, enhanced by the photoelastic and moving boundary effects.

High‐Voltage Stability of LiCoO2 Cathode Materials Composited With Vanadium‐Based Glass Coatings
Vanadium‐based glasses show fluidity and good wettability toward other materials at low temperatures. The controlled precipitation of nanocrystals in vanadium‐based glasses enhances the material's mechanical properties and electrical conductivity. The VPFL coatings bond to the LiCoO2 interface via chemical bonds.
