Bannai-Ito polynomials and dressing chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Schur-Delsarte-Genin (SDG) maps and Bannai-Ito polynomials are studied. SDG maps are related to dressing chains determined by quadratic algebras. The Bannai-Ito polynomials and their kernel polynomials -- the complementary Bannai-Ito polynomials -- are ...

Spectrum of the quantum Neumann model

open access: yes, 2005
We study numerically the spectrum and eigenfunctions of the quantum Neumann model, illustrating some general properties of a non trivial integrable model.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures.

Bifurcation Dynamics and Complex Behavior in a Discrete‐Time Predator–Prey Model With Cross‐Species Interaction Incorporating Holling Type‐II Response

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of a discrete‐time predator–prey model governed by a Holling Type‐II functional response. Starting from a biologically motivated continuous‐time system, we derive its discrete analogue via the explicit Euler method and employ nondimensionalization to reduce the number of parameters.

Groundwater Quality and Appropriateness for Drinking and Agriculture Purposes Using Water Quality Indices and Multivariate Statistical Analysis in Kombolcha City, Ethiopia

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The study used an integrated method of water quality indices (WQIs) and multivariate statistical analysis to evaluate the hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater samples and their appropriateness for drinking and agricultural applications in Kombolcha City.

Denjoy-Carleman differentiable perturbation of polynomials and unbounded operators

open access: yes, 2009
Let $t\mapsto A(t)$ for $t\in T$ be a $C^M$-mapping with values unbounded operators with compact resolvents and common domain of definition which are self-adjoint or normal.

Optimization Method for Decoupled Dual‐Platform Parallel Mechanism Integrating Radial Basis Function Neural Networks and Multobjective Particle Swarm Optimization

open access: yesJournal of Robotics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
With growing demands for machining large‐scale complex components in aerospace and marine engineering, conventional processing methods face bottlenecks, including insufficient rigidity, error accumulation, and limited flexibility. Parallel mechanisms (PMs), with their high stiffness and dynamic pose reconfiguration capability, provide critical ...

Stability for Inference with Persistent Homology Rank Functions

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, Volume 43, Issue 5, August 2024.
Abstract Persistent homology barcodes and diagrams are a cornerstone of topological data analysis that capture the “shape” of a wide range of complex data structures, such as point clouds, networks, and functions. However, their use in statistical settings is challenging due to their complex geometric structure. In this paper, we revisit the persistent

Quasi-exactly solvable quartic: real algebraic spectral locus

open access: yes, 2011
We describe the real quasi-exactly solvable spectral locus of the PT-symmetric quartic using the Nevanlinna parametrization.Comment: 17 pages, 11 ...

Investigating apparent differences between standard DKI and axisymmetric DKI and its consequences for biophysical parameter estimates

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 92, Issue 1, Page 69-81, July 2024.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of the study is to identify differences between axisymmetric diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and standard DKI, their consequences for biophysical parameter estimates, and the protocol choice influence on parameter estimation. Methods Noise‐free and noisy, synthetic diffusion MRI human brain data is simulated using standard

Local/global analysis of the stationary solutions of some neural field equations

open access: yes, 2009
Neural or cortical fields are continuous assemblies of mesoscopic models, also called neural masses, of neural populations that are fundamental in the modeling of macroscopic parts of the brain.
