Extreme Rhythm Keeping in Long‐Range Slow Click Communication of Sperm Whales

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1559, Issue 1, May 2026.
In this study, we show that male sperm whales produce low‐frequency slow clicks at low repetition rates with extreme source levels > 200 dB re 1 µPa (pp), making them the loudest mammalian communication signal, with an estimated active space of ∼70 km.

Method for Minimizing Total Generalized Squared Correlation of Synchronous DS-CDMA Signature Sequence Sets in Multipath Channels

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2006
We characterize the Total Generalized Squared Correlation (TGSC) for a given signature sequence set used in uplink synchronous code division multiple access (S-CDMA) when channel state information is known perfectly at bothtransmitter and receiver.

Measurement-Based LoS/NLoS Channel Modeling for Hot-Spot Urban Scenarios in UMTS Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2014
A measurement campaign is introduced for modeling radio channels with either line-of-sight (LoS) or non-line-of-sight (NLoS) connection between user equipment (UE) and NodeB (NB) in an operating universal mobile telecommunications system.

Comparison of SUN and Wi-Fi P2P WSN in M2M Environments

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
In wireless sensor network, two scenarios are combined which involve either short-range or long-range communications. IEEE 802.15.4g and IEEE 802.11 are considered in machine to machine environments, because they can utilize the identical frequency band.

Time-Varying Channel Estimation Based on Distributed Compressed Sensing for OFDM Systems

open access: yesSensors
For orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in high-mobility scenarios, the estimation of time-varying multipath channels not only has a large error, which affects system performance, but also requires plenty of pilots, resulting in low

Noncoherent CSK communication system and its performance analysis

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2007
A noncoherent CSK communication system with adjustable weights was proposed. Both theoretical analysis and simulation for its BER performance under the environment of multipath channels were studied. The results show that the BER performance of the system ...

Decoding of polar-coded OFDM systems over multipath fading channels with interleaving and channel state information

open access: yesScientific Reports
In this paper, we investigate the decoding performance and corresponding decoding strategies for polar-coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system operating under multipath fading channels.
