Simulation of multipath propagation inside building

Proceedings of ICC '93 - IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2002
Preliminary studies are required in order to use microwaves as support of information transmission inside buildings because of the problems of multipath propagation. Simulations based on the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) are presented. The first example concerns diffraction phenomena due to an elementary wedge formed by two walls.

Indoor Multipath Propagation Characteristic at 60GHz

TENCON 2006 - 2006 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2006
Delay profiles of indoor multipath environment at 60 GHz were measured. Packets included preamble with two msequences were used for measurement. Time-delay resolution of delay profiles was 1 ns. The measurement results showed that multipath delayed waves at 60 GHz were separable.

Multipath Propagation Effects of UWB Radars

2006 International Conference on Microwaves, Radar & Wireless Communications, 2006
The propagation of ultra wide band (UWB) signals is analyzed. The UWB radar output signals are formed both with transmitter and antenna. Moreover, they can be substantially affected due to electromagnetic wave propagation through walls and multipath effects. Multipath effects are analyzed and simulated numerically for various cases with several heights

Spatial matched processing for multipath propagation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
Underwater acoustic propagation is characterized by multipath or multimode propagation. Ray theory and mode theory are not fully adequate for modeling physical reality. Impulse responses can be more accurately calculated using Gaussian beam theory.

Correlation among multipaths for long rang propagation

Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2016
The multipath arrivals in ocean acoustic tomography are the important observations for the inversion to a sound speed profile and then to temperature. They are also implicit in any matched field processing beamforming. While the covariance of ray path travel times has been examined (Flatte and Stoughton, JGR 91, C6), the correlations among the ...

A deterministic tool for multipath propagation modelling

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Symposium, 2004., 2004
Mobile communications are influenced by multipath effects. Radio wave propagation over urban and natural terrain depends on topography and morphography. A simulation tool, URBES (urban ray beam electromagnetic simulator), is presented. It is based on astigmatic beam tracing (ABT), a deterministic method which combines ray and beam tracing.

Effects of Multipath Propagation on Digital Radio

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1981
This paper summarizes experimental work at Bell Laboratories in the field of multipath propagation as it affects digital radio. Field and laboratory measurements are presented on commercial-quality high-speed digital radio systems working in the 4, 6, and 11 GHz common carrier bands. Circuits and equipment used in these systems are all state of the art,

Influence of multipath propagation on UWB imagery

2008 IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband, 2008
In this paper the influence of multipath propagation on the quality of UWB imagery is analyzed. Typical UWB imaging methods like time domain migration consider only propagation paths with one reflection at the object of interest. In most scenarios the paths of higher order are attenuated sufficiently to neglect them.

GNSS accuracies under multipath propagation conditions

1988 IEEE 5th International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications - Proceedings. Spread Technology to Africa (Cat. No.98TH8333), 2002
One major error source for precise GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) kinematic positioning is multipath signal propagation. Therefore, it is very important to get more information about the possible multipath sources in positioning scenarios and the corresponding error in the range and phase measurements. We developed a simulation program based

Raypath parameters in tropospheric multipath propagation

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1982
An analytic approach tO the modeling of refractivity profiles, together with ray-tracing considerations, is discussed with a view to providing relevant information regarding path parameters in a multipath situation. Some points arising from rays launched from within an elevated duct are raised and discussed.
