Rational Approximation Preconditioners for Multiphysics Problems
We consider a class of mathematical models describing multiphysics phenomena interacting through interfaces. On such interfaces, the traces of the fields lie (approximately) in the range of a weighted sum of two fractional differential operators. We use a rational function approximation to precondition such operators.

Large Transverse Thermoelectric Effect in Weyl Semimetal TaIrTe4 Engineered for Photodetection
This experimental work shows that the anomalous scanning photocurrent response patterns of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4${\rm TaIrTe}_4$ under visible and long‐wave infrared illumination are due to a large transverse thermoelectric response of the material.

Preliminary Multiphysics Modeling of Electric High-Voltage Cable of Offshore Wind-Farms
During manufacture, handling, transportation, installation and operation, mechanical overstress can affect the electrical and thermal properties of the conductor. As the wires in general are made of copper, which is a very plastically deforming material,

Porous Ecoflex/PTFE composite with encapsulated liquid generates electricity through ionic migration induced by dynamic pore deformation, creating non‐uniform electric fields that drive charge induction on electrodes. This mechanism enhances charge transfer and ensures stable contact electrification performance, achieving 12 V and 4 nC with consistent ...

Survey of Multiscale and Multiphysics Applications and Communities [PDF]
Multiscale and multiphysics applications are now commonplace, and many researchers focus on combining existing models to construct combined multiscale models. Here we present a concise review of multiscale applications and their source communities. We investigate the prevalence of multiscale projects in the EU and the US, review a range of coupling ...

Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...
