Multiple Sequence Multicarrier CDMA for Interference-free Multiple Access

2006 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium, 2006
This paper shows a general structure for multicarrier (MC) CDMA that avoids multiuser interference even over fading channels. The technique converts a multi-access interference (MAI) channel into an inter symbol interference (ISI) channel for every user.

Suppression of Multiple Access Interference (MAI) in Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA)

2007 IFIP International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks, 2007
Recent advances in communications are driven by the requirements of next-generation wireless systems to provide high-data-rate and high quality services anywhere at anytime. However, the spectrum continues to be scarce and expensive, which creates new challenges in the developments of telecommunications systems.

Performance analysis of the hybrid interference canceller for multiple access interference cancellation

Proceedings of IEEE. IEEE Region 10 Conference. TENCON 99. 'Multimedia Technology for Asia-Pacific Information Infrastructure' (Cat. No.99CH37030), 2003
In this paper we introduced a hybrid interference cancellation scheme combining parallel interference cancellation (PIC) and successive interference cancellation (SIC). The proposed hybrid interference cancellation has been compared with existing PIC, SIC and other hybrid cancellation schemes. The performance criteria used for comparison are complexity,

Multiple-Access Interference Suppression for Interleaved OFDMA System Uplink

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2008
In this paper, the issue of multiple-access interference (MAI) suppression for the uplink in an interleaved orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) system is investigated. In such a system, a carrier frequency offset (CFO) disrupts the orthogonality between the subcarriers and gives rise to MAI among users.

Receiver Designs for Differential UWB Systems with Multiple Access Interference

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2014
Most existing differential receivers for ultra-wideband (UWB) communications employ Gaussian approximation for multiple access interference (MAI). However, for a system with strong interference caused by a small number of active users, significant performance degradation is found for differential UWB receivers due to the impreciseness of Gaussian ...

Suppression of multiple-access interference for code-division multiple-access systems

2018
Over the past few decades, code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems have been widely used for military and commercial applications. However, the multiple-access interference (MAI) greatly degrades the system performance. To overcome this drawback, many researchers have put forward multiuser detectors (MUDs) to handle the MAI properly. The MUDs make
