MCS wird weder bei somatischen Krankheiten noch bei psychischen eingeordnet. Dies erstaunt im Lichte dieses Fallberichts nicht, da sich das Syndrom im Zwischenbereich beider ansiedelt. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob es sich bei weiteren Patienten mit MCS gleich verhalt, wenn die Arzte die Patienten von einem biopsychosozialen Gesichtspunkt aus untersuchen.
