Multiple Description Wavelet Coding of Layered Video Using Optimal Redundancy Allocation
We present a wavelet-based framework for the encoding of video in multiple descriptions. Using the proposed methodology, the generation of multiple descriptions is performed so that drift is eliminated at the decoder regardless of the number of received

Capacity Bounds for a Class of Diamond Networks
A class of diamond networks are studied where the broadcast component is modelled by two independent bit-pipes. New upper and low bounds are derived on the capacity which improve previous bounds. The upper bound is in the form of a max-min problem, where

Spatio-temporal error concealment technique for high order multiple description coding schemes including subjective assessment [PDF]
International audienceError resilience (ER) is an important tool in video coding to maximize the quality of Experience (QoE). The prediction process in video coding became complex which yields an unsatisfying video quality when NALunit packets are lost ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Cooperative Media Streaming Using Adaptive Network Compression:IEEE Workshop on Mobile Video Delivery [PDF]
Media content distribution constitutes a growing share of the services on the Internet. Two distinct distribution approaches used today are Layered Coding (LC) and Multiple Description Coding (MDC). Current wireless connection technologies, e.g.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A propagation model for package loss refinement in VVC
A propagation model for the CABAC entropy codec for VTM is proposed and analysed in terms of its effective estimation and packing loss. In order to be compatible and implement a next‐generation coding framework, the proposed model is designed taking into

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

End-to-End Rate-Distortion Optimized MD Mode Selection for Multiple Description Video Coding
Multiple description (MD) video coding can be used to reduce the detrimental effects caused by transmission over lossy packet networks. A number of approaches have been proposed for MD coding, where each provides a different tradeoff between compression
