Statistical Analysis of Linear Degradation and Failure Time Data with Multiple Failure Modes
Lifetime Data Analysis, 2004The paper considers linear degradation and failure time models with multiple failure modes. Dependence of traumatic failure intensities on the degradation level are included into the models. Estimators of traumatic event cumulative intensities, and of various reliability characteristics are proposed.

Failure Profile Analysis of Complex Repairable Systems With Multiple Failure Modes
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2012The relative failure frequency among different failure modes of a production system is referred to as failure profile in this paper. Identification of failure profile based on failure-time data collected in the production phase of a system can help pinpoint the bottleneck problems, and provide valuable information for system design evaluation and ...

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2018
Abstract In the structural reliability analysis, there exist multiple failure modes. Influence of each failure mode on the structural system reliability needs to be considered, because it is significant for simplifying the system model and improving the performance of the system.

Reliability Assessment of Composite Structures with Multiple Failure Modes
Civil-Comp Proceedings, 2010The introduction of reliability assessment methods in safety analysis of composite structures increased the complexity and the efficiency of failure evaluation methodologies proposed in the literature. In this paper, an approach based on surrogate modelling of first ply failure to obtain the reliability of the whole composite structure is proposed and ...

Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium, 2005. Proceedings., 2005
By integrating the procedures of the FMEA method (failure mode and effects analysis) and the FTA method (fault tree analysis) into a combined procedure, the mFMEA (multiple failure mode and effects analysis), an inclusive reliability analysis of complex, mechatronical systems, is made possible.

A dependent multiple failure mode modelling procedure
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 1985Under mild distributional assumptions,Langberg,Proshane, and Quinzi demonstrated the changing of a dependent competing failure mode system into an independent one.In this paper, their procedure is ultiized to construct dependent failure mode models. The common reliablity models, Exponential,Weibull and Extreme value, are examined with this procedure and ...

System Reliability with Multiple Failure Modes and Time Scales
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2015Lifetime of some systems can be measured based on multiple time scales. For instance, the lifetime of an airplane may be affected by its mileage or number of landings. Furthermore, most systems are exposed to competing risks. In this regard, time scales can accelerate the failure mechanism of these systems.

Multiple Modes of Electromigration Failure in SAC Solder Alloys
2018 International Integrated Reliability Workshop (IIRW), 2018The anisotropic nature of tin, the principle component of Pb-free solder, can cause significant variations the physical characteristics of the solder bumps. Grain size and orientation in a solder bump can drastically change the properties of one bump, giving rise to multiple potential failure modes between bumps.

Multiple failure modes prognostics using logical analysis of data
2015 Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS), 2015In this paper, we propose a multiple fault prognostic methodology which considers the condition monitoring data collected from equipment that experiences one of several different failure modes over its life span. The methodology is based on the exploitation of historical data for knowledge extraction and representation in the form of relevant patterns.

Hedging-point production control with multiple failure modes
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1995Summary: We consider the control of a production facility subject to multiple failure modes. Motivated by work of \textit{R. Akella} and \textit{P. R.
