Multiple level lecture series—an alternative to the normal lower division physics sequence
American Journal of Physics, 1978The multiple level lecture series was developed to meet the physics requirements of students in a small community college. The physics requirements have increased in the last few years with the University of California introducing an introductory calculus level physics.

Analysis of the 5' ends of six apparently full-length cloned cDNA copies of the vaccinia virus growth factor gene suggested precise transcriptional initiation at the first purine following a run of five pyrimidines in the noncoding strand. By contrast, the 3' ends exhibited heterogeneity and were distributed over a 46-base-pair region.

Sequences of partial sums of multiple trigonometric Fourier series
Sbornik: MathematicsLet $f$ be an integrable $2\pi$-periodic function of $d\ge2$ variables. For a bounded subset $A$ of the $d$-dimensional space let $S_A(f)$ denote the sum of terms of the Fourier series of $f$ with frequencies in $A$. The following problem is addressed: given a sequence $\{A_j\}$ of bounded convex sets, do there exist a function $f$ and a sequence $\{j_\

The astacins, a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases have been widely detected in animal kingdom from humans to bacteria. They play a diverse role in both mature and developmental systems ranging from bone morphogenesis, tissue differentiation, hatching process, digestive function and in different diseases including cancer, inflammation, fibrosis ...

This work aims at proposing a higher-order moments analysis, in order to obtain an effective characterisation (in a non-Gaussian sense) of the global DS/CDMA noise in the case of few-user systems and short spreading codes. The use of the Edgeworth series expansion, whose terms are directly linked with the statistical cumulants allows to reach a good ...
