Multiple Shoot Regeneration from Young Shoots of Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus)

A method was developed to initiate multiple shoots from the young shoot of kenaf. Young shoots along with the cotyledons were excised from ten-day old aseptically germinated seeds and pre-cultured for two weeks in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with benzyl adenine (BA) or a combination of BA and kinetin.

A multiple shooting method for the Zeeman effect

A multiple shooting procedure in coupled angular momentum spaces is used to calculate the Zeeman energy levels of the hydrogen atom. The method is found to deal efficiently with the low field splittings of initially degenerate states, including some Rydberg states.

IN VITRO INDUCTION OF MULTIPLE SHOOTS IN DENDROBIUM

Investigations to standardise the optimal chemical environment for in vitro induction of multiple shoots in Dendrobium ev. Sonia revealed that MS medium fortified with 5.0 mg -1 kinetin and 0.5 mg 1-1 GA-1 recorded the maximum number of microshoots per culture, the longest microshoots and the maximum number of leaves per microshoot.

Shoot Tip Culture of Helianthus annuus-Flowering and Development of Adventitious and Multiple Shoots

Shoot multiplication of Helianthus annuus was optimal from half shoot apices cultured on MS media with 0.1–1.0 mg/1 benzyl adenine or kinetin. Auxins inhibited multiplication and promoted callusing. Rooting was poor and was not promoted by auxins. Flowering of multiple shoots was observed after as little as 3 wk of culture.
