The switching-method in multiple shooting
Computing, 1998Multiple shooting is a well-known technique for the numerical solution of boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations. In order to solve the boundary value problems one has to solve initial value problems defined in the subintervalls of a given grid of shooting points.

A multiple shooting method for the Zeeman effect
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2009A multiple shooting procedure in coupled angular momentum spaces is used to calculate the Zeeman energy levels of the hydrogen atom. The method is found to deal efficiently with the low field splittings of initially degenerate states, including some Rydberg states.

Finding shortest gentle paths on polyhedral terrains by the method of multiple shooting
Journal of Computational Science, 2023The problem of finding shortest θ-gentle paths can be stated as follows: given two points p,q on a polyhedral terrain and a slope parameter θ∈(0,π/2), the objective is to find a path joining p and q on the terrain which is shortest such that the slope of the path does not exceed θ.

A fixed point multiple shooting method
Computing, 1988A method is proposed for solving ordinary two-point boundary value problems of a certain type. It works if the problem can be transformed into a contracting fixed point equation by means of a Green's function which need not be known for the process. It is similar to multiple shooting but much simpler.

Multiple Shooting Method for Initial Satellite Orbit Determination
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2010After a satellite has been launched, the determination of its initial orbit is one of the primary tasks to be accomplished by mission control: e.g., in order to prepare for high-precision orbit determination or orbital transfers. For this purpose, tracking measurements are acquired by ground stations, which are the basis for the determination of the ...
