Engineering Crowdsourced Stream Processing Systems [PDF]
A crowdsourced stream processing system (CSP) is a system that incorporates crowdsourced tasks in the processing of a data stream. This can be seen as enabling crowdsourcing work to be applied on a sample of large-scale data at high speed, or ...

Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

Thermoelectric temperature sensors are developed that directly measure heat changes during optical‐based neural stimulation with millisecond precision. The sensors reveal the temperature windows for safe reversible neural modulation: 1.4–4.5 °C enables reversible neural inhibition, while temperatures above 6.1 °C cause permanent thermal damage.

Policy learning in the face of ambiguity: Puzzling and powering in multiple streams
Recent research has pointed to the need to investigate policy learning under conditions of contingency and ambiguity. The Multiple Streams Framework seems particularly suited to addressing policy-making in such a context, but also appears to be at odds ...

The evolution of SME policy: the case of New Zealand
Building on policy process theories, this study constructs a meaningful historical narrative that explains the developments in small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) policy in New Zealand during the period 1978–2008 that marked the point where SME ...

A roll‐to‐roll exfoliation method is demonstrated that preserves the crystallographic alignment of anisotropic 2D materials over large areas, enabling scalable fabrication of directional electronic and optoelectronic devices. Abstract Anisotropic 2D materials such as black phosphorus (BP), GeS or CrSBr, exhibit direction‐dependent optical and ...
