Strong Stability of Queues with Multiple Vacation of the Server
Stochastic Analysis and Applications, 2008The main purpose of this article is to use the strong stability method to approximate the characteristics of the M/G/1//N queue with server vacation by those of the classical M/G/1//N queue, when the rate of the vacations is sufficiently small. This last queue is simpler and more exploitable in practice.

A multiple warm standby δ-shock system with a repairman having multiple vacations
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2016In this article, a warm standby n-unit system is studied. The system is operational as long as there is one unit normal.

A MARKOV REPAIRABLE SYSTEM INVOLVING AN IMPERFECT SERVICE STATION WITH MULTIPLE VACATIONS [PDF]
The main purpose of this paper is to study the reliability and availability of a system with M operating devices, m spares, and an imperfect service station that takes vacations. Specifically, once there are no failed devices in the system, the service station takes consecutive vacations until there is at least one failed device upon its return from ...

Well-Posedness of the Gnedenko System with Multiple Vacations
Key Engineering Materials, 2012We investigate the solution of the Gnedenko system with multiple vacation of a repairman. By using-semigroup theory of linear operators, we prove well-posedness and the existence of the unique positive dynamic solution of the system.

Analysis of a retrial queue with multiple vacations and state dependent arrivals
RAIRO - Operations Research, 2015Summary: This paper examines an M/G/1 retrial queueing system with multiple vacations and different arrival rates. Whenever the system is empty, the server immediately takes a vacation. At a vacation completion epoch, if the number of customers in the orbit is at least one the server remains in the system to activate service, otherwise the server ...

M/M/1 Differentiated Multiple Vacation Queueing Systems with Vacation-Dependent Service Rates
International Review on Modelling and Simulations (IREMOS), 2015We consider a multiple vacation queueing system in which a vacation following a busy period has a different distribution from a vacation that is taken without serving at least one customer. In addition, the service rate after a vacation taken after a busy period of non-zero duration is different from that of a vacation taken after a busy period of zero

Reliability Analysis of Gnedenko System with Multiple Vacations
2011This paper studies the Gnedenko system attended by a repairman with multiple vacations. It is assumed that the life of the operating unit, the standby and the rest operable units when the system is down and the vacation time of the repairman are all exponential distributions, while the repair time of the unit has a general continuous distribution.

A multiple vacation model Mx ¦ G ¦ 1 with balking
Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 1997Summary: In a previous paper [Bull. Nat. Sci. Albania (1987)] we have studied multiple vacation in a model of type \(M^X| G| 1\). The probability generating function (p.g.f) of the number of customers left behind by a departing customer and the Laplace-Stieltjes transform (L.S.T) of the waiting time of a customer, was derived independently and using a ...
