An Adaptive Inhibitory WSe2 Transistor for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Image Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional retinomorphic devices typically require deliberate gate‐bias tuning for each illumination condition. In this paper, we demonstrate an adaptive inhibitory WSe2 transistor that uses photo‐induced regime shift between the subthreshold and accumulation modes to achieve decision‐free, intensity‐adaptive image processing within a single pixel ...

Time-division-multiplexed interrogation of fibre Bragg grating sensors using laser diodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
An intensity-based technique for the interrogation of fibre Bragg grating sensors is described. The technique utilizes two longitudinal modes of a single, pulsed laser diode as a dual-wavelength source for grating illumination.

Multiplexed ultrasound imaging of gene expression

open access: yesNature Methods
Abstract Acoustic reporter genes (ARGs) have enabled imaging of gene expression with ultrasound, which provides high resolution access to deep, optically opaque living tissues. However, unlike their fluorescent counterparts, ARGs have so far been limited to a single ‘sound’, preventing multiplexed imaging of cellular states or ...

Full‐Field Damage Monitoring in Architected Lattices Using In situ Electrical Impedance Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ electrical impedance tomography (EIT) turns 3D‐printed, CNT‐infused architected lattices into full‐field damage‐imaging systems. Tunable Voronoi‐based geometries act as active sensing architectures, enabling conductivity maps to detect early‐stage damage and localise sequential ligament fracture before catastrophic failure.

Near-field THz imaging and spectroscopy using a multiple subwavelength aperture modulator

open access: yes, 2013
We present a near-field, simultaneous multiple pixel subwavelength THz transmission imaging device based on a solid-state THz spatial modulator. Frequency-division multiplexing is used to acquire multiple pixels simultaneously.

Drop‐on‐Demand Printed Negative Dielectric Anisotropy Liquid Crystal Droplets for Adaptive Complex Beam Manipulation and Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Printed negative‐dielectric‐anisotropy liquid‐crystal droplets enable multidimensional full‐vectorial optical‐field sensing across polarization, phase, and wavelength, while also generating tunable skyrmionic‐like complex optical fields. ABSTRACT Adaptive manipulation of vectorial optical fields is important for optical metrology, imaging, and ...

Design architectures for optically multiplexed imaging

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
Optically multiplexed imaging is the process by which multiple images are overlaid on a single image surface. Uniquely encoding the discrete images allows scene reconstruction from multiplexed images via post processing. We describe a class of optical systems that can achieve high density image multiplexing through a novel division of aperture ...
