Higher-order Multiples

Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2015
Higher-order multiple gestations have increased since the advent of advanced reproductive technologies. These pregnancies present unique risks to both mothers and fetuses. It is imperative that early diagnosis of chronicity be determined and that proper counseling is performed, so patients understand the risks, evaluation, and management needed.

Birth order and multiple sclerosis

Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 1982
No significant difference in birth order and risk of multiple sclerosis (MS) was found in a large-scale investigation employing 2 different study methods: case-control and comparison of birth order with expected distribution. This finding is at variance with conflicting results of 2 recently published investigations.

Rescheduling for Multiple New Orders

INFORMS Journal on Computing, 2007
Aset of original jobs has been scheduled on a single machine, but not processed, when a set of new jobs arrives. The decision maker needs to insert the new jobs into the existing schedule without excessively changing it. The objective is minimization of the maximum lateness of the jobs, subject to a customer service requirement modeled by a limit on ...

The relation between birth order and risk of multiple sclerosis (MS) was studied among MS patients in Israel. The evaluation was both by case-control study and comparison of expected and observed birth order in Israel-born patients. Results showed an excess of first-born and a low birth order among MS patients.

Ordering multiple continuations on the stack

Proceedings of the 20th ACM SIGPLAN workshop on Partial evaluation and program manipulation, 2011
Passing multiple continuation arguments to a function in CPS form allows one to encode a wide variety of direct-style control constructs, such as conditionals, exceptions, and multi-return function calls. We show that, with a simple syntactic restriction on the CPS language, one can prove that these multi-continuation arguments can be compiled into ...
