Controlled Lattice Distortion and Lattice‐Strain‐Engineered CoCuIr Alloy toward Preferential Chlorine Tolerant Direct Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A lattice‐strain‐engineered Co0.28Cu0.67Ir0.05 trimetallic alloy nanoparticle electrocatalyst is rationally designed for efficient alkaline seawater electrolysis. Larger Ir atoms in the CoCu lattice modulate the local coordination environment, generating compressive lattice strain and highly active catalytic sites.

Numerical Methods for Multipoint Boundary Value Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Existence and uniqueness theory for ordinary differential systems subject to linear constraints is presented in some detail. Finite difference schemes, shooting methods, orthonormalization procedures and projection methods are studied. Orthonormalization

Multipoint surface electromyography measurement using bull’s-eye electrodes for wide-area topographic analysis

open access: yesJournal of Physiological Anthropology, 2023
Background Surface electromyography (sEMG) is primarily used to analyze individual and neighboring muscle activity. However, using a broader approach can enable simultaneous measurement of multiple muscles, which is essential for understanding muscular ...

TECTB Variants Reveal Tectorial Membrane Vulnerability in Dominant Non‐Syndromic Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TECTB is a non‐collagenous protein of the tectorial membrane – an extracellular matrix of the cochlea. This study identifies dominant missense variants in TECTB linked to human hereditary deafness in two unrelated families. Genetically engineered mice homozygous for one of the variants are profoundly deaf, whereas heterozygous mice have normal hearing ...

Positive Solution of Singular Fractional Differential Equation in Banach Space

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2011
We investigated a singular multipoint boundary value problem for fractional differential equation in Banach space. The nonlinear term 𝑓(𝑡,𝑥,𝑦) is positive and singular at 𝑥=𝜃 and (or) 𝑦=𝜃.

Design considerations in a sib-pair study of linkage for susceptibility loci in cancer

open access: yesBMC Medical Genetics, 2008
Background Modern approaches to identifying new genes associated with disease allow very fine analysis of associaton and can be performed in population based case-control studies.

Developing Metal–Polyphenol Network‐Based Single‐Protein Particle Encapsulation System for Sustained Release of Whey Protein to Mitigate Sarcopenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sarcopenia has emerged as a major health challenge in the aging population. Developing a sustained‐release system for whey protein may enhance its effectiveness in mitigating sarcopenia. Herein, a novel “single‐protein particle encapsulation” (SPPE) system is developed to protect whey protein and control its release.

Multipoint Multirate Signal Processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This thesis provides a fundamentally new, systematic study of multipoint multirate signal processing systems. The multipoint multirate operators are analyzed via equivalent circuits comprised entirely of conventional multirate operators. Interconnections

A Two‐Stage Characterization Pipeline and Open‐Source Framework for Reproducible Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The same soft tactile sensor returns different numbers when embodied in different robots. This is an Embodiment Gap that no shared framework currently captures transparently. A two‐stage characterization pipeline, paired with a FAIR open‐source digital datasheet, decouples intrinsic sensor behavior from embodiment effects and condenses cross‐laboratory
