Enhanced Resistive Switching Uniformity in Tantalum Oxide Memristor Devices via Copper Implantation

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Metal oxide memristor devices typically suffer from uncontrolled forming processes and limited resistive switching uniformity due to the stochastic formation of an oxygen vacancy filament. Improved resistive switching uniformity in Ta2O5 memristor is developed by Cu implantation in the switching oxide.

Counterintuitive transitions in the multistate Landau-Zener problem with linear level crossings

open access: yes, 2004
We generalize the Brundobler-Elser hypothesis in the multistate Landau-Zener problem to the case when instead of a state with the highest slope of the diabatic energy level there is a band of states with an arbitrary number of parallel levels having the ...

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).

Control over multiple molecular states with directional changes driven by molecular recognition

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Multistate molecular systems usually rely on external energy inputs to switch between states. Here, the authors show that a bispyridyl calixpyrrole system directed by only weak noncovalent interactions and metal coordination can access six discrete ...

Investigation of Analog Memristor Characteristics for Hardware Synaptic Weight in Multilayer Neural Network

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
The systematic design of memristor‐based neural network is provided by analog conductance state parameters to accurately emulate the software‐based high‐resolution weight at discrete device level. The requirement of discrete analog conductance of memristor device is measured as ≈50 states with nonlinearity value of ≈0.142 within the deviation range of ...

A multistate model for early decision making in oncology

open access: yes, 2018
The development of oncology drugs progresses through multiple phases, where after each phase a decision is made about whether to move a molecule forward.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence With Droplet‐Based Microfluidics: Advances, Challenges, and Emerging Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Droplet‐based microfluidics enables precise, high‐throughput microscale reactions but continues to face challenges in scalability, reproducibility, and data complexity. This review examines how artificial intelligence enhances droplet generation, detection, sorting, and adaptive control and discusses emerging opportunities for clinical and industrial ...

All-optical vectorial control of multistate magnetization through anisotropy-mediated spin-orbit coupling

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
The interplay between light and magnetism is considered as a promising solution to fully steer multidimensional magnetic oscillations/vectors, facilitating the development of all-optical multilevel recording/memory technologies.

Local Search Optimization for a Multi-state Series-parallel System

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Generally, the redundancy allocation problem is characterized as a kind of NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, which is difficult to solve with the classical method because it has exponentially increasing complexity with the augmented size.

Complete contingency planners [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A framework is proposed for the investigation of planning systems that must deal with bounded uncertainty. A definition of this new class of contingency planners is given. A general, complete contingency planning algorithm is described.
