Online Multitask Learning

2006
We study the problem of online learning of multiple tasks in parallel. On each online round, the algorithm receives an instance and makes a prediction for each one of the parallel tasks. We consider the case where these tasks all contribute toward a common goal.

Multitask Causal Contrastive Learning

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems
Multitask learning (MTL) aims to improve the performance of multiple tasks by sharing knowledge among multiple different tasks, which has attracted increasing interest and shown success in various fields. However, MTL often suffers from negative transfer since the model may utilize useless features and face interference among tasks' optimization ...

Semisupervised Multitask Learning With Gaussian Processes

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2013
We present a probabilistic framework for transferring learning across tasks and between labeled and unlabeled data. The approach is based on Gaussian process (GP) prediction and incorporates both the geometry of the data and the similarity between tasks within a GP covariance, allowing Bayesian prediction in a natural way.

Multitask Visual Learning Using Genetic Programming

Evolutionary Computation, 2008
We propose a multitask learning method of visual concepts within the genetic programming (GP) framework. Each GP individual is composed of several trees that process visual primitives derived from input images. Two trees solve two different visual tasks and are allowed to share knowledge with each other by commonly calling the remaining GP trees ...

Multiview Transfer Learning and Multitask Learning

2019
Transfer learning is proposed to transfer the learned knowledge from source domains to target domains where the target ones own fewer training data. Multitask learning learns multiple tasks simultaneously and makes use of the relationship among these tasks.

Mobile Phone Multitasking and Learning

2015
In recent years, mobile phones and smart devices have become commonplace in the classroom. Students often use them while engaged in learning, both in and out of the classroom. Although such use is referred to as multitasking, researchers have noted that the learner is rapidly switching between different activities on one device or on multiple devices ...
