Asymptotic multiuser efficiencies for decision-directed multiuser detectors

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1998
Summary: The asymptotic multiuser efficiencies (AME's) are derived for various classes of decision-directed multiuser detectors, including multistage detectors, and decision-feedback detectors. Novel classes of soft-decision multistage detectors are proposed and analyzed in this paper.

Multiuser Mobile Multimedia

Ninth IEEE International Symposium on Multimedia (ISM 2007), 2007
Mobility especially the flexibility given to us by the mobile phone is the future of computing as we know it. No longer are we restricted to sitting at a desk in front of a powerful desktop machine. Mobile technology of today allows users to work, learn and play no matter where they may be.

Multiuser cryptographic techniques

Proceedings of the June 7-10, 1976, national computer conference and exposition on - AFIPS '76, 1976
This paper deals with new problems which arise in the application of cryptography to computer communication systems with large numbers of users. Foremost among these is the key distribution problem. We suggest two techniques for dealing with this problem.

Multiuse of Medicines in Finland

Medical Care, 1993
The purpose of this study was to investigate the occurrence of multiuse of prescription drugs and its major determinants among Finnish adults. The data were based on three nationally representative and intercomparable health surveys in 1976, 1978-80, and 1987. The study populations were 16,413 in 1976, 13,138 in 1987, and 7,217 in 1978-80.

Success in processor multiuse

Bell Labs Technical Journal, 2002
Standard microprocessors and programmable logic have been combined to create multi-usable controller assets. These have been reused by multiple Lucent Technologies business units to foster speed to market. The advantages of this approach include leverage of high-reliability, duplex designs so that the using application can concentrate on its ...

Iterative multiuser detection

IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, 2004
Communication channels that involve both error-control coding and multiple-access signaling are of increasing interest in applications such as cellular telephony, wireless computer networks, and broadband local access. Optimal data detection and decoding in such channels generally require a level of computational complexity that is prohibitive for ...

Multicast Multiuser ARQ

2008 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2008
In this paper, multiuser ARQ is extended to multicasting. The core idea is that the sender, based on feedback from users regarding successfully received transmissions, adapts code weights for data packet linear combinations that are then sent. Each user exploits its previously received information in decoding the linearly combined packets. Specifically,

A joint-channel diagonalization for multiuser MIMO antenna systems

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2003
In this paper, we address the problem of improving the performance of multiuser space-division multiplexing (SDM) systems where multiple independent signal streams can be transmitted in the same frequency and time slot.

Multiuser microcomputer systems

Proceedings of the 1983 annual conference on Computers : Extending the human resource - ACM 83, 1983
Microcomputers are small, efficient, powerful and inexpensive. They have found many uses in commerce and industry as well as for education and enlightenment. They are so inexpensive that it is possible in some firms to put one on everybody's desk. The computers are truly personal.Personal stand-alone computers are fine for doing independent individual ...
