Block-Sparsity-Based Multiuser Detection for Uplink Grant-Free NOMA
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2018Grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access has recently gained significant attention for reducing signaling overhead in machine-type communications. In this context, compressed sensing (CS) has been identified as a good candidate for joint activity and ...

Blind adaptive multiuser detection
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005We propose a new blind multiuser signal model and detection framework for solving the near-far problem in synchronous CDMA in this paper. Compared with existing blind detectors, the proposed framework requires a minimum number of previously received signals, which is about the number of interfering users, and no sub-space separation or sequence ...

Multiuser detection for CDMA systems [PDF]
Spread spectrum-based code division multiple access (CDMA), has taken on a significant role in cellular and personal communications. We concentrate on direct sequence CDMA (DS/CDMA). We show that there is a natural modification of the present systems that is potentially capable of significant capacity increases.

Multistage multiuser detection for FHMA
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2000A multistage multiuser detector (MMD) is presented for frequency-hopping/code-division multiple access (FH/CDMA.) The MMD reduces the bit-error rate (BER) over the conventional detector by exploiting prior knowledge of the addresses and energies of the user signals. This detector is a conservative multiuser detector which is robust to unknown users and

Multiuser detection of alamouti signals
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2009In a MIMO multiple-access channel where users employ Space-Time Block Codes (STBC), interference cancellation can be used to suppress co-channel interference and recover the desired signal of each user at the receiver. Leveraging the special properties of Alamouti matrices, we first show that spatial multiplexing of Alamouti signals retains the space ...

Polar coded iterative multiuser detection for sparse code multiple access system
China Communications, 2018Polar coded sparse code multiple access (SCMA) system is conceived in this paper. A simple but new iterative multiuser detection framework is proposed, which consists of a message passing algorithm (MPA) based multiuser detector and a soft-input soft ...

Communication channels that involve both error-control coding and multiple-access signaling are of increasing interest in applications such as cellular telephony, wireless computer networks, and broadband local access. Optimal data detection and decoding in such channels generally require a level of computational complexity that is prohibitive for ...

Turbo greedy multiuser detection
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2001Previously, a novel scheme for iterative multiuser detection and turbo decoding was proposed by Damnjanovic and Vojcic (2000, 2001). In this scheme, multiuser detection and single-user turbo decoding are tightly coupled to maximize the overall gain.
