A Self-Contained Cylinder Drive with Indirectly Controlled Hydraulic Lock [PDF]
This paper presents a self-contained pump-controlled hydraulic linear drive including an innovative load holding sub-circuit. For safety critical applications such as crane manipulators, locking valves or load holding valves are enforced by legislation ...

Robust multivariable predictive control: Aplication to an industrial test stand [PDF]
This paper reports a theoretical extension of Multivariable Predictive Control (MPC). The robustness of an augmented algorithm (alpha-MPC) for a general M-input N-output system is explored.

Hard constraints in control state variables of multivariable nonlinear processes resolved by elementary nonlinear decoupling [PDF]
A model based control strategy for nonlinear multivariable processes having hard constraints on both control and state variables, is derived based upon the concept of Elementary Nonlinear Decoupling (END). In END a property space is defined which has the

Multivariable Feedback Control of Nuclear Reactors [PDF]
Multivariable feedback control has been adapted for optimal control of the spatial power distribution in nuclear reactor cores. Two design techniques, based on the theory of automatic control, were developed: the State Variable Feedback (SVF) is an ...

Adaptive Dynamic Surface Control of Flight With Vector-Coupled Dynamics
This study aims to address the issues of controlling angle of attack, sideslip angle, and airspeed of a flight in vectorial form. A novel vector-control structure is developed to transform the attitude and speed control problem into a space-vector ...

Multivariable controller tuning
The problem of tuning individual loops in a multivariable controller is investigated. It is shown how the performance of a specific loop relates to a row in the controller matrix. Several interpretations of this relation are given. An algorithm is also presented that estimates the model required for the tuning via a relay feedback experiment.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Optimal Control of Nonlinear Multivariable Systems [PDF]
This paper concerns a study on the optimal control for nonlinear systems. An appropriate alternative in order to alleviate the nonlinearity of a system is the exact linearization approach.

GMV control of nonlinear multivariable systems [PDF]
A Generalized Minimum Variance control law is derived for the control of nonlinear, possibly time-varying multivariable systems. The solution for the control law is original and was obtained in the time-domain using a simple operator representation of ...
