On multivariable linear systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1970
A general result in linear system theory concerning the controllability and observability of multi-input multi-output systems is presented. Specifically, it is shown that any controllable observable linear system can be made controllable from any input and observable from any output using output feedback.

Designs for Multivariable Systems

2004
In Chapters 3 and 4, we developed adaptive state feedback and output feedback actuator failure compensation control schemes for single-output linear time-invariant systems with possible failures of redundant actuators whose effect on the system dynamic behavior is similar (so that an equal-actuation (or proportional actuation, see (1.15)) scheme for ...

On multivariate genetic systems

2009 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2009
We take into account the problem of extending the Univariate Marginal Distribution Genetic Algorithm (UMDGA) modeling and analysis to the multivariate framework. In particular, we introduce the basic general concepts and mathematical formalism to devise genetic algorithms useful to solve problems involving dependencies among genes.

Multivariable control system synthesis

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1958
An important problem in the field of multivariable control systems is the design of suitable feedback and series compensation elements which, when added to a given system, result in an over-all system with improved characteristics. This improvement may apply to the behavior of the controlled variables, to the disturbance response of the system, or to ...

Multivariable System Laboratory Experiment

International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1984
A laboratory experiment, designed as a teaching aid for courses on multivariable control systems is described. This involves simulating a two-input/two-output system on a small 6-amplifier analogue computer. The effects of interaction, pole and zero shifting can be observed.
