Modeling the geochemical distribution of rare earth elements (REEs) using multivariate statistics in the eastern part of Marvast placer, the Yazd province

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology, 2017
Introduction Nowadays, exploration of rare earth element (REE) resources is considered as one of the strategic priorities, which has a special position in the advanced and intelligent industries (Castor and Hedrick, 2006).

Second Order Expansions for High-Dimension Low-Sample-Size Data Statistics in Random Setting

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We consider high-dimension low-sample-size data taken from the standard multivariate normal distribution under assumption that dimension is a random variable.

Multivariate Extreme Value Theory Based Channel Modeling for Ultra-Reliable Communications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications
Attaining ultra-reliable communication (URC) in fifth-generation (5G) and beyond networks requires deriving statistics of channel in ultra-reliable region by modeling the extreme events.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

On photon statistics parametrized by a non-central Wishart random matrix

open access: yes, 2015
In order to tackle parameter estimation of photocounting distributions, polykays of acting intensities are proposed as a new tool for computing photon statistics.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Transversality Conditions for Geodesics on the Statistical Manifold of Multivariate Gaussian Distributions

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
We consider the problem of finding the closest multivariate Gaussian distribution on a constraint surface of all Gaussian distributions to a given distribution. Previous research regarding geodesics on the multivariate Gaussian manifold has focused on finding closed-form, shortest-path distances between two fixed distributions on the manifold, often ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
