Directional selection effects on patterns of phenotypic (co)variation in wild populations. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Phenotypic (co)variation is a prerequisite for evolutionary change, and understanding how (co)variation evolves is of crucial importance to the biological sciences.

GloPath: An Entity‐Centric Foundation Model for Glomerular Lesion Assessment and Clinicopathological Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An entity‐centric foundation model, GloPath, is introduced for comprehensive glomerular lesion assessment from routine renal biopsy images. Trained on over one million glomeruli, the framework enables robust lesion recognition, grading, and cross modality diag nosis, while uncovering large‐scale clinicopathological associations.

Description of a new species of Microglanis (Siluriformes: Pseudopimelodidae) from the Amazon basin, Amazonas State, Brazil

open access: yesNeotropical Ichthyology
The first species of Microglanis from the rio Amazonas, Amazonas State, Brazil is described. This species differs from all congeners by the forked caudal fin, and color pattern of the supraoccipital region consisting of two elliptical and juxtaposed pale

Macroevolutionary patterns in cranial and lower jaw shape of ceratopsian dinosaurs (dinosauria, ornithischia). phylogeny, morphological integration, and evolutionary rates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Organisms: Ceratopsians were herbivorous, beaked dinosaurs, ranging from 1 m to 9 m in body length, usually four-footed, and with a bony frill that extended backwards from the cranium over the nape of the neck. Known from Asia, Europe, and North America,

Prenatal development of skull and brain in a mouse model of growth restriction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Patterns of covariation result from the over-lapping effect of several developmental processes. By perturbing certain specific developmental processes, ex-perimental studies contribute to a better understanding of their particular effects on the ...

The comparative study of intra-specific variations in the various populations of Clinopodes flavidus (Geophlilomorpha, Geophilidae) in Alborz Mountain, using geometric morphometrics

open access: yesیافته‌های نوین در علوم زیستی, 2020
The aim of this study was to determine the variations among cephalic plates of individuals in two populations of Clinopodes flavidus in Alborz Mountains, by means of landmark-based techniques of geometric morphometrics.

Geometric morphometrics reveals shifts in flower shape symmetry and size following gene knockdown of CYCLOIDEA and ANTHOCYANIDIN SYNTHASE

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2017
Background While floral symmetry has traditionally been assessed qualitatively, recent advances in geometric morphometrics have opened up new avenues to specifically quantify flower shape and size using robust multivariate statistical methods.

MANDIBULAR SHAPE IN MYOSTATIN-DEFICIENT MICE: A GEOMETRIC MORPHOMETRIC ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The relationship between muscle function and mandibular morphology is unclear. Manipulating the size or function of muscle and then observing the effect on adjacent bone is one way to explore this relationship.

Shadow‐Calibrated Stereo Vision for Colorimetric Sweat Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By establishing a mathematical model that reconstructs 3D structures through geometric features of object shadows under controlled illumination, and combining it with Convolutional Neural Network‐based 2D image analysis for volumetric calibration, this work enables highly accurate 3D morphological reconstruction.
