A multivariate empirical Bayes statistic for replicated microarray time course data
In this paper we derive one- and two-sample multivariate empirical Bayes statistics (the $\mathit{MB}$-statistics) to rank genes in order of interest from longitudinal replicated developmental microarray time course experiments.

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

We obtain two theorems extending the use of a saddlepoint approximation to multiparameter problems for likelihood ratio-like statistics which allow their use in permutation and rank tests and could be used in bootstrap approximations.

Optimal and fast detection of spatial clusters with scan statistics [PDF]
We consider the detection of multivariate spatial clusters in the Bernoulli model with $N$ locations, where the design distribution has weakly dependent marginals.

Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Wearable Electromagnetic Belt for Steatotic Liver Detection Using Multivariate Energy Statistics
A wearable electromagnetic belt system for the detection of hepatic steatosis (lipid accumulation within the major liver cells, hepatocytes), is proposed. To satisfy the requirements of the belt system, an array of body matched antennas is designed.

Multi-tract multi-symptom relationships in pediatric concussion
Background: The heterogeneity of white matter damage and symptoms in concussion has been identified as a major obstacle to therapeutic innovation. In contrast, most diffusion MRI (dMRI) studies on concussion have traditionally relied on group-comparison ...

False discovery rate control with multivariate $p$-values
Multivariate statistics are often available as well as necessary in hypothesis tests. We study how to use such statistics to control not only false discovery rate (FDR) but also positive FDR (pFDR) with good power.

Robust graphical modeling of gene networks using classical and alternative T-distributions [PDF]
Graphical Gaussian models have proven to be useful tools for exploring network structures based on multivariate data. Applications to studies of gene expression have generated substantial interest in these models, and resulting recent progress includes ...
