Video transcoding can convert a compressed video from one format to another format. In this paper, we propose a novel multiview video transcoder, which is used for bit-rate scaling of multiple compressed synchronized video streams. Different from the traditional joint transcoder for independent multiple program transcoding, the multiview video ...

Multiview video quality enhancement
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2016Realistic visualization is crucial for a more intuitive representation of complex data, medical imaging, simulation, and entertainment systems. In this respect, multiview autostereoscopic displays are a great step toward achieving the complete immersive user experience, although providing high-quality content for these types of displays is still a ...

Synthesis Error COmpeNsateD Multiview Video plus Depth for representation of multiview video
2014 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2014SECOND-MVD (Synthesis Error COmpeNsateD Multiview Video plus Depth) is an alternative 3D format that we introduce for representation of multiview video. In this data format, images at some viewpoint remain original, and the others are converted to a novel format. Residual based representation, such as layered depth video and free-viewpoint TV data unit

Robust Multitask Multiview Tracking in Videos
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2015Various sparse-representation-based methods have been proposed to solve tracking problems, and most of them employ least squares (LSs) criteria to learn the sparse representation. In many tracking scenarios, traditional LS-based methods may not perform well owing to the presence of heavy-tailed noise. In this paper, we present a tracking approach using

Depth-Based Multiview Distributed Video Coding
IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2014Multiview distributed video coding (DVC) has gained much attention in the last few years because of its potential in avoiding communication between cameras without decreasing the coding performance. However, the current results are not matching the expectations mainly due to the fact that some assumptions of the theory are not satisfied in the current ...

Learning-based multiview video coding
2009 Picture Coding Symposium, 2009In the past decade, machine learning techniques have made great progress. Inspired by the recent advancement on semi-supervised learning techniques, we propose a novel learning-based multiview video compression framework. Our scheme can efficiently compress the multiview video represented by multiview-video-plus-depth (MVD) format. We model the ...

Research on Multiview Video Coding
2012 International Conference on Computer Science and Electronics Engineering, 2012Multiview Video Coding (MVC) is an extension of the Advanced Video Coding (AVC) standard that provides efficient coding of such multiview video. This paper describes the main concepts of multiview video coding (MVC). Firstly, the architecture evolutional history of MVC is introduced.

Multiview video and depth coding
2012 Picture Coding Symposium, 2012In this paper we propose a method to encode/decode multiview textures and associated depth maps together in a single bitstream. Encoded bits of depth maps have been merged into that of associated textures in an innovative way with very minimal loss in PSNR of textures, 0.1–0.2 dB for high delay and 0.2–1 dB for low delay applications.

Human Behavior Recognition from Multiview Videos
Information Sciences, 2020Abstract With the proliferation of deep learning techniques, a significant number of applications related to home care systems have emerged recently. In particular, detecting abnormal events in a smart home environment has been extensively studied. In this paper, we adopt deep learning techniques, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and ...
