Surface‐based passive microwave studies of multiyear sea ice
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1992Multifrequency passive microwave observations are reported from surface based field experiments carried out over multiyear sea ice in the eastern Arctic Basin, the Beaufort Sea, the Canadian archipelago and the northern Greenland Sea. Dual polarized brightness temperatures at 6.7, 10, 18.7, 37, and 90 GHz were obtained at selected multiyear ice sites ...

Mechanisms and Atmospheric Drivers of Arctic Multiyear Sea Ice Loss
Journal of Geophysical Research: AtmospheresAbstract Employing the spaceborne observations from scatterometers (QuikSCAT and ASCAT), we quantify the contributions of different mechanisms to the Arctic MYI area changes over two decades (1999/2000–2017/2018).

Multiyear sea ice variability in the eastern Bering Sea: An update
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1983Time series of sea surface temperature (SST), percent ice cover, degree day, and surface wind anomalies are updated from Niebauer [1980] for the period 1974–1982 from the eastern Bering Sea. These data are used to provide further documentation of the recent short‐term (∼1977‐present) climatic warming trend in the region of the eastern Bering Sea.

Multiyear sea ice floe distribution in the Canadian Arctic Ocean
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1987A series of aerial photographic flights, made over the polar pack ice during April 1982, from M'Clure Strait in the south to Ellef Ringnes Island in the north, shows the changes in ice floe type, size, and area as the pack moves southwest under the effect of the Polar Gyre.

Mass Balance of Multiyear Sea Ice in the Southern Beaufort Sea
2012Abstract : The long-term goals are: 1) Determination of the net growth and melt of multiyear (MY) sea ice during its transit through the southern Beaufort Sea 2) Identification of key regional processes in southern Beaufort Sea affecting MY ice recruitment 3) Improved predictability of the future states of the Arctic ice pack.
