Retina‐Inspired Bi‐Based Terahertz Photonic Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined with effective band alignment and substrate engineering, bismuth materials are introduced to form terahertz photonic bio‐inspired devices with picosecond short‐term plasticity to enable multi‐scene visual perception. Thus obtained hardware through the terahertz optical neural network (THz‐ONN) demonstrates high recognition accuracy, providing ...

Liquidity, default, taxes, and yields on municipal bonds [PDF]

open access: yes
We examine the effects of liquidity, default and personal taxes on the relative yields of Treasuries and municipals using a generalized model with liquidity risk. The municipal yield model includes liquidity as a state factor.

Simultaneous Wastewater‐to‐Hydrogen Upgrading via Mechanically Driven Piezocatalysis Over Ag‐ZnO Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A piezocatalytic strategy enables simultaneous wastewater purification and hydrogen generation by harnessing mechanical energy. Complementary piezo‐induced charges are selectively directed toward oxidation and reduction pathways, achieving efficient pollutant degradation and continuous H2 evolution.

Post-Davis Conduit Bonds: At the Intersection of the Dormant Commerce Clause and Municipal Debt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This Note addresses the constitutionality of the selective taxation of conduit bonds, a subset of municipal bonds that finance private enterprise, in the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Department of Revenue v. Davis.

Can municipal bonds hedge US state-level climate risks? [PDF]

open access: yes
Using daily data on municipal bonds and equity returns from the 50 US states, we find barring extreme periods of financial, macroeconomic, and health crises, the underlying conditional correlation between these two assets is negative. When we capture the

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Rated municipal bonds: an analysis, classification and extension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The purpose of this study was to (1) identify the variables important in analyzing a general obligation municipal bond's investment quality using improved statistical techniques, (2) develop models that accurately classify municipal bonds into investment

Sulfur‑Containing Additives for Enhanced Kinetics and Interfacial Stability of Phosphorus Anodes in Li‑Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel synergistic strategy by employing dual functional sulfur‐containing additives of lithium sulfide (Li2S) and its oxidation product lithium sulfate (Li2SO4) was proposed. Li2SO4 absorbs the solvent molecules to direct the formation of a uniform, Li2O‐rich, and adaptive interphase, which accommodates volume expansion and suppresses parasitic ...

Orthogonal Design of Competing Deprotonation Process in Cation‐Mediated Ni(OH)2 for Achieving Industrial Level Biomass Electrooxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Cu‐mediated Ni(OH)2 catalyst with orthogonal activity by precise valence engineering simultaneously accelerates rate‐determining aldehyde C─H activation in HMF oxidation and impedes O─H deprotonation in competing OER. This multi‐functional synergistic catalysis enables FDCA production at industrial‐level current densities without sacrificing FEFDCA ...
