Prevalence and diversity of Banana streack virus species in Cuba [PDF]
Banana streak virus (BSV) species are widespread in Musa spp worldwide. They are naturally transmitted either horizontally by several mealybug species or vertically by vegetative propagation of infected germplasm.

First and third instar Chrysoperla externa showed efficient predatory capacity at low R. indica density, but second instar C. externa exhibits a density‐dependent predatory ability. The lacewing C. externa shows promise as a biocontrol agent for R. indica in coconut because it consumed 8362 R. indica females across all its larval instars.

Guidelines for irrigation scheduling of banana crop in São Francisco Valley, Brazil. II - Water consumption, crop coefficient, and physiologycal behavior Orientações para o manejo da irrigação da bananeira no Vale do São Francisco. II - Consumo de água, coeficiente de cultura e comportamento fisiológico
The water consumption and the crop coefficient of the banana cv. Pacovan were estimated in Petrolina County, northeastern Brazil, in order to establish guidelines to irrigation water management. Evaluations were carried out since planting in January 1999

The Potential Of High-Resolution BAC-FISH In Banana Breeding [PDF]
The genetic complexity in the genus Musa has been subject of study in many breeding programs worldwide. Parthenocarpy, female sterility, polyploidy in different cultivars and limited amount of genetic and genomic information make the production of new ...

Fruit respiration: putting alternative pathways into perspective
Summary Over the past century, research has significantly advanced our understanding of fruit respiration, from (eco)physiological processes to molecular mechanisms. This review focuses on the functional relevance and regulatory roles of mitochondrial alternative respiratory pathways (ARPs) during fruit growth and ripening.

Protoplast‐Based Functional Genomics and Genome Editing: Progress, Challenges and Applications
ABSTRACT Protoplast‐based systems provide a powerful and versatile platform for exploring how plants sense and respond to their environment. By enabling the direct delivery of proteins, DNA, and RNA into plant cells after cell wall removal, this approach facilitates precise molecular dissection of signaling, stress adaptation, and gene regulation ...

Atualmente, a maior parte da produção brasileira de banana é destinada ao mercado interno e, geralmente, é colhida, manuseada e transportada de forma deficiente e inadequada, contribuindo para perdas substanciais na fase pós-colheita.

ABSTRACT Soil acidity is among the most important abiotic stresses globally constraining agricultural land and crop productivity. Globally, about 30%–40% of total arable land is under the influence of acidic soil. In Ethiopia, approximately 43% of arable land and productive areas are constrained by acidic soil.
