Bryophyte flora of Western Melanesia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
A project dealing with the hepatic and moss floras of New Guinea and the Solomon Islands has proceeded more than halfway. The revision of the flora is based on the study of ca 17000 specimens collected in 1981.

The Impact of Obesity on Durable Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
14 100 LVAD patients across 21 studies were analyzed. Findings indicated that obese LVAD recipients had lower short‐term mortality and higher risk of infection, thrombosis and right heart failure. There was no difference in long‐term survival between obese and non‐obese patients.

Check list of the bryophytes of Réunion Island (France) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A systematic, literature-based compilation of bryophytes of Réunion Island has been made, with the additional examination of herbarium specimens. The list of 148 genera and 404 species and infraspecific taxa of mosses and 87 genera and 241 species and ...

Mitochondrial haplotype and sex modulate responses to endurance exercise training

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Using OKC‐HETB/W rats we demonstrate that mitochondrial haplotype influences training responses of endurance exercise. Overall OKC‐HETW rats showed greater responses than OKC‐HETB in exercise tolerance, mitochondrial bioenergetics, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutation frequencies and motor co‐ordination.

Quick reference list of basic literature to identify tropical African bryophytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The aim of this short and selected reference list is to guide bryologists in the very scattered African literature when they try to identify specimens, as no standard bryofloras are available for the whole of Tropical Africa.

Enhanced Reconstruction of Holocene Bryophytes From Sedimentary Ancient DNA Using Bryophyte‐Targeted Primers

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Bryophyte‐targeted primers captured a longer DNA fragment, moving beyond the indirect “bycatch” approach using vascular plant primers. This improved detection and recovered greater bryophyte diversity, with substantial overlap with taxa obtained through bycatch.

A contribution to the moss flora of Ecuador [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
An annotated list of new records or otherwise interesting species from Ecuador is presented. The occurrence of rhizoidal tubers is reported for the first time in Anoectangium aestivum, Brachymenium chilense and Bryoerythrophyllum ...

The tasiR‐ARF pathway in plants: origin, functions, and interplay of miR‐390, tasiRNAs and ARF3

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 328-344, March 2026.
Trans‐acting small interfering RNAs that silence a subset of Auxin Response Factors are crucial for plant growth, developmental timing, proper organ patterning, and coping with stress. Abstract Trans‐acting small interfering RNA (tasiRNAs) are a special type of endogenous small RNAs (sRNAs) found only in plants.

RELIABILITY OF THE GEOMETRIC CALIBRATION OF AN HYPERSPECTRAL FRAME CAMERA [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
One of the main tools for high resolution remote sensing and photogrammetry is the lightweight hyperspectral frame camera, that is used in several application areas such as precision agriculture, forestry, and environmental monitoring.

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure in Bryophyte With Facultative Nannandry

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Among plants, gender dimorphism occurs in about 10% of all angiosperms and more than 50% of all moss taxa, with dwarf males (DM) found exclusively in some unisexual mosses. In this study, we explore the role of male dwarfism as a reproductive strategy in
