TRB proteins in moss reveal their evolutionarily conserved roles in plant development and telomere maintenance

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 124, Issue 3, November 2025.
Significance Statement TRB proteins in the moss P. patens are essential for normal development, telomere maintenance, and transcriptional regulation. Our findings demonstrate the evolutionary conservation of TRB functions across land plants and highlight their ancient origin in streptophytes.

The Linnaean revolution – A history of the Natural System

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 5, Page 1011-1034, October 2025.
Abstract A very brief history of the Natural System (NS) is presented, focusing on angiosperms. The account is divided into four parts. The first, “Setting the stage”, gives an outline of my understanding of evolutionary ontology and how this reflects on taxonomy.

A module with multiple transcription factors positively regulates powdery mildew resistance in grapevine

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 9, Page 3984-3999, September 2025.
Summary Erysiphe necator, the causal agent of powdery mildew (PM), is a fungal pathogen that can severely reduce crop yields. In this study, stable overexpression and silencing demonstrated that the transcription factor VqWRKY46 was identified as a positive regulator of PM resistance in grapevine.

Niche Differentiation of Three Terrestrial Isopod Species Based on DNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
Species coexistence is a hot topic in ecology, with niche differentiation playing a key role in reducing interspecific competition. This study investigates the dietary habits and niche differentiation of three terrestrial isopod species (Armadillidium vulgare, Sphaeroma raffaelei, and Trachelipus semiproiectus) using DNA metabarcoding technology.

Effects of Hot Air Drying on the Nutritional and Phytochemical Composition of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) Microgreens

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 90, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Cruciferous microgreens are recognized for their high content of phytochemicals, particularly glucosinolates. Their high moisture content and water activity make them highly perishable after harvest and highlight the need for effective preservation methods that maintain their nutritional quality.

Entire motifs search of secondary structures in proteins: a parallelization strategy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The study of proteins is a crucial aspect of the biological field, as they are essential elements of every living cell. Often, the function of a given protein is tightly tied to its geometric structure.
