This work reviews how the metabolic by‐product methylglyoxal may contribute to the development of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), a common complication of diabetes characterized by nerve damage and chronic pain in the extremities. In diabetes, methylglyoxal levels rise due to increased glucose metabolism and reduced detoxification capacity. While

Abstract The present study examined the cardiovascular, metabolic, neuromuscular and perceptual effects of low‐intensity jumping in simulated lunar gravity (∼20% bodyweight) with blood flow restriction (BFR). Fourteen healthy adults (24 ± 4 years; 1.81 ± 0.06 m; 75 ± 12 kg) completed an incremental jumping test in simulated lunar gravity (9.5° head‐up ...

Possibility of uncoupling protein 1 expression in bovine fast-twitch muscle fibers
Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) is responsible for non-shivering thermogenesis in brown/beige adipocytes in humans and rodents. Previously, we showed unexpected expression of UCP1 in bovine skeletal muscles. Here we evaluated Ucp1 mRNA levels in the muscle tissue of Japanese Black steers.
