Recombinant linear multiple epitopes of σB protein protect Muscovy ducks against novel duck reovirus infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Infection by the novel duck reovirus (NDRV) in ducklings causes high mortality, which leads to substantial economic losses in the duck industry in China. To date, no commercial vaccine is available for this disease.

Infection with novel duck reovirus induces stress granule and methylation-mediated host translational shutoff in Muscovy ducklings

open access: yesCommunications Biology
The recently identified novel duck reovirus (NDRV) is a waterfowl reovirus that can seriously harm or kill various waterfowl species. However, how NDRV interacts with host cells in Muscovy ducklings beyond the typical pathogenesis resulting from a viral ...

Sex-Linked Chocolate Coloration in in the Muscovy Duck

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1970
Abstract TAIBEL (1961) in Italy reported a brownish mutant color type in the Muscovy duck, Cairina moschata, and gave it the name sepia or faiogeno, with symbol f. Simple recessive inheritance was indicated. In England, “dun” or “brown” Muscovy ducks had been known previously (Appleby, 1949), but apparently no genetic study had been made.
