Dynamics of postnatal bone development and epiphyseal synostosis in the caprine autopod

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Bones develop to structurally balance strength and mobility. Bone developmental dynamics are influenced by whether an animal is ambulatory at birth. Precocial species, which are ambulatory at birth, develop advanced skeletal maturity in utero and experience postnatal development under mechanical loading.

Incident heart failure: comparing management and outcome in primary and hospital settings in Western Sweden 2008–2017

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 832-838, April 2025.
Abstract Aim Heart failure (HF) is a highly prevalent condition managed in both primary care (PC) and hospital care (HC)‐based settings. HF patients managed in these two settings may differ in their demography, comorbidities and outcomes, so we aimed to compare the patient management in PC and HC in the Västra Götaland Region (VGR) in Sweden.

Severity of effect considerations regarding the use of mutation as a toxicological endpoint for risk assessment: A report from the 8th International Workshop on Genotoxicity Testing (IWGT)

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
Abstract Exposure levels without appreciable human health risk may be determined by dividing a point of departure on a dose–response curve (e.g., benchmark dose) by a composite adjustment factor (AF). An “effect severity” AF (ESAF) is employed in some regulatory contexts.

A novel PTEN variant causing hemimegalencephaly and focal nodular heterotopias in the developing human brain

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Brain development and subsequent brain function are highly sensitive to genetic mutations, which can result in severe neurodevelopmental malformations. Alterations in PTEN signaling cause a spectrum of developmental malformations and neurological diseases including epilepsy.
