On the evaluation of mutual coupling between slots
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1987Analytical expressions for mutual coupling between slots embedded in a large ground plane are presented and discussed, both for piecewise-sinusoidal and for cosinusoidal field distribution. In the former an exact analytical expression has been found; in the latter various approximations based on Taylor and/or Fourier representation, have been analyzed.

Wireless Orientation in the Presence of Mutual Couplings
2020 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2020Conventional microwave orientation methods based on the array antenna require high element isolation in most cases. In our work, a neural network-based microwave orientation method is proposed to avoid the interferences caused by the mutual couplings between elements.

On the Dynamics of a Couple of Mutually Interacting Neurons
2013A model for describing the dynamics of two mutually interacting neurons is considered. In such a context, maintaining statements of the Leaky Integrate-and-Fire framework, we include a random component in the synaptic current, whose role is to modify the equilibrium point of the membrane potential of one of the two neurons when a spike of the other one

Mutual Caring of Elderly Korean Couples
Journal of Transcultural Nursing, 2007The article described the experiences of elderly couples caring for each other using ethnographic methodology. Ten couples were interviewed in depth. The presence of a support system was found to be the primary requirement of elderly couples. Three taxonomies comprised the support system: (a) desire for respect in care, (b) desire for reliance, and (c)

Eigenvalue Based Mutual Coupling Reduction
2019 IEEE 89th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Spring), 2019This work introduces a novel decoupling technique which employs the theory of coupled characteristic modes for a two element microstrip array. The key idea is to optimize the shape of the decoupling structure using the eigenvalues of the coupled array which can be computed with no prior knowledge of the excitation arrangement.

Synchronization of mutually coupled LC-oscillators
2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006It is shown that synchronization is similar to amplitude stabilization: both mechanisms involve creation of harmonics and frequency reduction. Synchronization of LC-oscillators can be achieved using similar synchronizing circuits in each oscillator connected in parallel with the tank.

Direction Finding In The Presence Of Mutual Coupling
Twenty-Second Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 1991An eigenstructure-based method for direction finding in the presence of sensor mutual coupling, gain, and phase uncertainties is presented. The method provides estimates of the directions-of-arrival (DOA) of all the radiating sources as well as calibration of the gain and phase of each sensor and the mutual coupling in the receiving array. The proposed

Coupled Mutual Inhibition and Mutual Activation Motifs as Tools for Cell-Fate Control
Cells Tissues Organs, 2022Multistability is central to biological systems. It plays a crucial role in adaptation, evolvability, and differentiation. The presence of positive feedback loops can enable multistability. The simplest of such feedback loops are (a) a mutual inhibition (MI) loop, (b) a mutual activation (MA) loop, and (c) self-activation.

Abstract : The report gives the complete derivation (in an appendix) of the radiation admittance of a rectangular waveguide acting as an element in an infinite phased array. The derived equations are capable of predicting the experimentally observed anomalous notch that has been found to exist in arrays composed of large waveguides.

Sparsity Enhancement in Mutuality Coupled Networks
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1984Mutual coupling in three-phase or zero-sequence networks often results in severe sparsity degredation in network analyses based on the nodal admittance matrix. Retention of mid-line nodes in the zero-sequence nodal admittance matrix results in sparsity enhancement and computational improvements.
