Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

MI-Dropout: A New Generalized Dropout Strategy Guided by Mutual Information
Dropout is a commonly used regularization method in deep neural networks, which can effectively alleviate overfitting. However, traditional Dropout usually uses a fixed probability to discard neurons, which fails to fully utilize the importance of the current input features.

Nonrigid image registration using conditional mutual information
We propose conditional mutual information (cMI) as a new similarity measure for nonrigid image registration. We start from a 3D joint histogram incorporating, besides the reference and floating intensity dimensions, also a spatial dimension expressing ...

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Multi-spectral stereo image matching using Mutual Information
Mutual information (MI) has shown promise as an effective\ud stereo matching measure for images affected by radiometric\ud distortion. This is due to the robustness of MI\ud against changes in illumination.
