The Potential of Stagonospora sp. as a Mycoherbicide for Field Bindweed

Biocontrol Science and Technology, 1998
Field bindweed ( Convolvulus arvensis L.) is one of the 12 most important weeds worldwide. Stagonospora sp. Isolate LA39 was isolated from diseased field bindweed plants collected in Europe. No crop tested was susceptible to the fungus, but disease symptoms were observed on other Convolvulaceae species.

Mycoherbicide formulation and the potential for bracken control

Pesticide Science, 1993
AbstractThe imperfect fungusAscochtya pteridis, causal agent of curl‐tip disease, is considered as the potential active ingredient of a mycoherbicide for the control of bracken (Pteridium aquilinum(L.) Kühn) Results of experimental attempts to improve pathogenicity by the addition to the spore inoculum of one or more adjuvants are reviewed.

Synergized Mycoherbicides for Resistance Management

1997
Despite the large number of excellent herbicides available, there are many cases where there are needs to control single weed species. These needs include: a) Weeds that have evolved resistance to a still favored herbicide. Typically, only a single weed (initially) evolves resistance under monoherbicide monoculture, and the herbicide still ...
