Test–retest variability of the full‐field stimulus test in patients with retinitis pigmentosa: REPEAT Study Report No. 4

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 1, Page 89-97, February 2026.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate test–retest variability (TRV) of the full‐field stimulus test (FST) in patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and poor best‐corrected visual acuity (BCVA; ≤20/50 Snellen; ≥0.40 logMAR), and to assess the reliability of FST as a clinical endpoint in future RP trials.

Automated Diagnosis of Hypertensive Retinopathy Using Res‐UNet and Graph Convolutional Networks

open access: yesHealthcare Technology Letters, Volume 13, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The proposed framework integrates retinal vessel segmentation and artery/vein classification using deep residual UNET and GCN models for hypertensive retinopathy diagnosis. By computing the arteriovenous ratio, the method accurately detects HR stages from retinal fundus images. The system achieves reliable performance using the DRIVE dataset.

The Use of Combined Fundus Photography and Perimetry for the Assessment of Patients Referred for Intracranial Hypertension or Follow‐Up of the Diagnosis in a Tertiary Headache Center

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is characterized by increased intracranial pressure and papilledema. If left untreated, it can lead to vision loss, and, timely detection of papilledema is of paramount importance. Direct ophthalmoscopy can be difficult to perform and interpret for non‐ophthalmologists.

Neuroprotective effects of lutein in a rat model of retinal detachment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Retinal detachment (RD) is a leading cause of blindness, and although final surgical re-attachment rate has greatly improved, visual outcome in many macula-off detachments is disappointing, mainly because of photoreceptor cell death.
