PD‐L1 in Ovarian Cancer: Immune Evasion, Tumor‐Intrinsic Signaling, and Chemoresistance

The “Dual Shield” model of PD‐L1 in ovarian cancer. On the outside, PD‐L1 engages PD‐1 to inactivate T cells and drive immune evasion (immune shield). Inside the tumor cell, PD‐L1 activates AKT–mTOR, enhances DNA repair, rewires metabolism, supports autophagy, and enforces stemness programs—collectively creating a chemoresistance shield.
