Action of Dicumarol on Glucosamine-1-Phosphate Acetyltransferase of GlmU and Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of most pathogenic microorganisms in the world. Previously, the bifunctional enzyme GlmU with glucosamine-1-phosphate acetyltransferase activity and N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphate uridyltransferase activity has been ...

Induction of dark-adaptive retinomotor movement (cell elongation) in teleost retinal cones by cyclic adenosine 3,5-monophosphate. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
In the teleost retina, the photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) undergo extensive movements (called retinomotor movements) in response to changes in light conditions and to an endogenous circadian rhythm.

PIK3CA Mutations Downregulate PPT1 to Promote Adipogenesis by Suppressing P300 Depalmitoylation and Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.

A role for human N-alpha acetyltransferase 30 (Naa30) in maintaining mitochondrial integrity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
N-terminal acetylation (Nt-acetylation) by N-terminal acetyltransferases (NATs) is one of the most common protein modifications in eukaryotes. The NatC complex represents one of three major NATs of which the substrate profile remains largely unexplored ...

Non‐RASopathy Genetic Syndromes Identified as the Molecular Cause of Disease in Patients Previously Diagnosed With Noonan Syndrome

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Noonan Syndrome (NS) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous condition characterized by typical facial dysmorphisms, short stature, congenital heart defects, and developmental delays. While variants in genes such as PTPN11, SOS1, and RAF1 account for most genetically confirmed cases, diagnosis is challenging due to phenotypic overlap ...

Study on the effect of NAT10 on the polarization of macrophages in mice

open access: yesKouqiang hemian waike zazhi
[Objective:] To investigate the effect of N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10) gene on the polarization of mouse macrophages in vitro and in vivo. [Methods:] Mouse monocyte line RAW264.7 cells were cultured in vitro and induced by polarization, and the ...

Acetylator Genotype-Dependent Dyslipidemia in Rats Congenic for N-Acetyltransferase 2

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2020
Recent reports suggest that arylamine N-acetyltransferases (NAT1 and/or NAT2) serve important roles in regulation of energy utility and insulin sensitivity. We investigated the interaction between diet (control vs. high-fat diet) and acetylator phenotype

Acetylation genotype and the genetic susceptibility to postate cancer in a Southern European population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Epidemiologic studies have suggested that environmental factors and diet are important risk factors in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer. The N-acetyltransferases (NAT) are important enzymes in activation and inactivation of various carcinogens ...

STING deficiency promotes motor recovery in mice following brachial plexus root avulsion

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
STING deficiency can increase the body weight, promote motor recovery, decrease MN death, inhibit pyroptosis and neuroinflammation, increase remyelination, and reduce the atrophy of the biceps brachii in mice with BPRA. Abstract Background Brachial plexus root avulsion (BPRA), a well‐known form of peripheral nerve injury, results in motor function loss
