Continuous N-gram Representations for Authorship Attribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents work on using continuous representations for authorship attribution. In contrast to previous work, which uses discrete feature representations, our model learns continuous representations for n-gram features via a neural network

Log Posterior Approach in Learning Rules Generated using N-Gram based Edit distance for Keyword Search

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Systems, 2018
Challenging searching mechanisms are required to cater to the needs of search engine users in probing the voluminous web database. Searching the query matching keyword based on a probabilistic approach is attractive in most of the application areas, viz.

Musical Creativity and Depth of Implicit Knowledge: Spectral and Temporal Individualities in Improvisation

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2018
It has been suggested that musical creativity is mainly formed by implicit knowledge. However, the types of spectro-temporal features and depth of the implicit knowledge forming individualities of improvisation are unknown.

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.

N-gram-based Machine Translation [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Linguistics, 2006
This article describes in detail an n-gram approach to statistical machine translation. This approach consists of a log-linear combination of a translation model based on n-grams of bilingual units, which are referred to as tuples, along with four specific feature functions.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

N-grams based feature selection and text representation for Chinese Text Classification [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2009
In this paper, text representation and feature selection strategies for Chinese text classification based on n-grams are discussed. Two steps feature selection strategy is proposed which combines the preprocess within classes with the feature selection ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
