We carried out a density functional theory (DFT) modeling of the stable conformations of n-pentane (C5H12), n-hexane (C6H14), and n-octadecane (C18H38) as well as their Raman spectra.

Toxic polyneuropathy due to n-hexane
Journal of the Neurological Sciences, 1980Three women developed a predominantly motor polyneuropathy following industrial exposure to an adhesive agent containing 80.4% of n-hexane as a volatile substance. Histological and electron-microscopic studies were carried out on sural nerve and on soleus muscle.

In this study, CaO/scoria (a kind of ignition rock) was used as catalyst of transesterification reaction. We have tried to reduce production costs of biodiesel in different ways.

Neuropathy in n-hexane poisoning
S.S. Korsakov Journal of Neurology and PsychiatryN-Hexane is a solvent widely used in manufacturing as a cleaner, degreaser and component of rubber cement. Chronic exposure to n-hexane either through contact with unprotected skin or inhalation can lead to the development of clinical symptoms and electrophysiological changes similar to those of inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy which requires ...

n-Hexane induces Parkinsonism in rodents
Brain Research, 1990A case of human parkinsonism, due to n-hexane exposure, was recently described. On the basis of this observation, we treated mice and rats with n-hexane and its principle toxic metabolite 2,5-hexanedione. The mice underwent a chronic treatment intraperitoneum, the rats were treated stereotaxically into the substantia nigra.

Preparation of mesoporous mordenite for the hydroisomerization of n-hexane
Catalysis communications, 2019A mesoporous mordenite (MOR) zeolite was prepared from a commercially available MOR sample by a sequential acid-alkaline-acid post-treatment. The latter was used as support of Pt to prepare a bifunctional Pt/H-MOR catalyst for the hydroisomerization of n-

n‐Hexane‐induced parkinsonism: Pathogenetic hypotheses
Movement Disorders, 1995Abstractn‐Hexane, similar hydrocarbons, and derivatives are common environmental pollutants and by‐products of lipid peroxidation, and they may have a nigrotoxic effect like that of 1‐methyl‐4‐phenyl‐1, 2, 3, 6‐tetrahydropyridine. This report describes our second case of parkinsonism in a subject exposed to n‐hexane.

Poor metabolization of n-hexane in Parkinson's disease
Journal of Neurology, 2003Although genomic screening studies have identified several genes associated with Parkinson's disease (PD), there is evidence that environmental factors are also involved in the pathogenesis of the disease and that hydrocarbon-solvents may be one of them. The genetic component is less evident in late-onset PD. To assess whether age and PD may affect the
