Bio‐active designed peptide for hair keratin strengthening

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Bioactive tripeptides through in silico screening revealed KCV (Tripeptide‐132) as the most promising keratin‐targeting candidate. Experimental studies confirmed its superior hair‐strengthening performance with 44% tensile strength enhancement, 50% breakage reduction, improved surface integrity and fibre penetration.

Toward the total synthesis of spirastrellolide A. Part 3: Intelligence gathering and preparation of a ring-expanded analogue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Different methods for the formation of the C.25–C.26 bond of spirastrellolide A (1) are evaluated that might qualify for the end game of the projected total synthesis, with emphasis on metathetic ways to forge the macrocyclic ...

Molecular basis for a pore block of Tentonin 3 expressed in HEK293 cells by a conopeptide, NMB‐1

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 9, Page 1845-1859, May 2026.
Background and Purpose Tentonin 3 (TTN3/TMEM150C) is a mechanosensitive ion channel that plays critical roles in mechanotransduction processes. TTN3 forms a tetramer with a predicted rectangular shape and a central pore. A conotoxin ρ‐TIA and its synthetic analog, noxious mechanosensation blocker 1 (NMB‐1), were initially developed to inhibit slowly ...

Introducing Reverse Osmosis and Membrane Distillation in the Recovery Process of N-Methylmorpholine N-Oxide in Cellulose Fiber Production

open access: yesRecycling
This study serves as a proof of concept for the evaluation of two membrane technologies, reverse osmosis combined with membrane distillation, for the recovery of N-methylmorpholine N-oxide (NMMO) and water from generated wastewater by the textile ...

Macrocyclization by Nickel-Catalyzed, Ester-Promoted, Epoxide-Alkyne Reductive Coupling: Total Synthesis of (−)-Gloeosporone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Ringing the changes: The total synthesis of the title compound centers around a novel strategy that employs a nickel(0)–phosphine complex and triethyl borane in an efficient closure of a 14-membered ring through C--C bond formation (see scheme; cod ...

From Hemp Bast to Lyocell Fiber: Sustainable Process Optimization for Lyocell‐Grade Dissolving Pulp

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 16, April 20, 2026.
This study presents a sustainable method to produce lyocell‐grade dissolving pulp from Canadian hemp bast fibers. A simplified alkali‐chelation‐bleaching process, free from sulfur and chlorine, yielded high α‐cellulose pulp with low lignin and hemicellulose content. The pulp was successfully spun into continuous hemp‐based lyocell fibers, demonstrating

Engineered Biopolymer Architectures for Selective Metal Ions Extraction

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 4, April 2026.
This review establishes a mechanism‐oriented framework that connects biopolymer chemistry, structural engineering, ligand design, and hydrometallurgical process variables for selective metal‐ion extraction. It analyzes how functional groups, hierarchical architectures, and solution speciation govern adsorption capacity and selectivity in acidic ...
