Human proto-oncogene N-myc encodes nuclear proteins that bind DNA. [PDF]

open access: closedMolecular and Cellular Biology, 1986
N-myc is a gene whose amplification has been implicated in the genesis of several malignant human tumors. We have identified two proteins with molecular weights of 65,000 and 67,000 encoded by N-myc. The abundance of these proteins in tumor cells was consonant with the extent of amplification of N-myc.

Molecular Mechanisms of MYCN Dysregulation in Cancers

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2021
MYCN, a member of MYC proto-oncogene family, encodes a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor N-MYC. Abnormal expression of N-MYC is correlated with high-risk cancers and poor prognosis. Initially identified as an amplified oncogene in neuroblastoma

Polydatin Inhibits Cell Viability, Migration, and Invasion Through Suppressing the c-Myc Expression in Human Cervical Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Polydatin, an active ingredient from the roots of Polygonum cuspidatum, is considered to have protective effects on the cardiovascular system and liver.

Excellent treatment outcomes in children younger than 18 months with stage 4 nonamplified neuroblastoma [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Pediatrics, 2018
PurposeAlthough the prognosis is generally good in patients with intermediate-risk neuroblastoma, no consensus has been reached on the ideal treatment regimen.

Alternative approaches to target Myc for cancer treatment

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, 2021
The Myc proto-oncogene family consists of three members, C-MYC, MYCN, and MYCL, which encodes the transcription factor c-Myc (hereafter Myc), N-Myc, and L-Myc, respectively.

High Intrinsic Oncogenic Potential in the Myc-Box-Deficient Hydra Myc3 Protein

open access: yesCells, 2023
The proto-oncogene myc has been intensively studied primarily in vertebrate cell culture systems. Myc transcription factors control fundamental cellular processes such as cell proliferation, cell cycle control and stem cell maintenance.

c-Myc Alters Substrate Utilization and O-GlcNAc Protein Posttranslational Modifications without Altering Cardiac Function during Early Aortic Constriction. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Hypertrophic stimuli cause transcription of the proto-oncogene c-Myc (Myc). Prior work showed that myocardial knockout of c-Myc (Myc) attenuated hypertrophy and decreased expression of metabolic genes after aortic constriction.

Transcriptome analysis of blastoderms exposed to prolonged egg storage and short periods of incubation during egg storage

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2022
Background Cool temperature egg storage prior to incubation is a common practice in the broiler industry; however, prolonged egg storage causes increased embryonic mortality and decreased hatchability and growth in surviving chicks.

Molecular Changes in Tissue Proteome during Prostate Cancer Development: Proof-of-Principle Investigation

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2020
(1) Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is characterized by high heterogeneity. The aim of this study was to investigate molecular alterations underlying PCa development based on proteomics data.
